Wildlife Emergency Services (WES) maintains a specially trained team of first responders equipped to handle wildlife emergencies, including difficult and technical rescues.

Wildlife Search and Rescue Training: With more than 40 years of hands-on experience, WES provides specialized training for first responders and wildlife professionals in the safe capture, handling, and transport of wildlife in distress. Our training also includes response to wildlife affected by oil and other contaminants.

Education: WES provides expert consulting and community education focused on humane, science-based solutions to human–wildlife conflicts. This includes Coyote-Smart™, our coyote conflict prevention and response program.

Wildlife Poisoning Investigations: WES continues to be a leader in documenting rodenticide poisoning in wildlife. WES covers the costs of necropsies and toxicology testing when public agencies are unable or unwilling to do so. This helps ensure that wildlife deaths are properly investigated, documented, and understood, and that important evidence is not lost simply because funding is unavailable.

Wildlife Justice: WES investigates suspected trapping and wildlife-law violations and advocates for enforcement, accountability, and justice. When animals are unlawfully trapped under the guise of wildlife control, those violations should be treated with the same seriousness as poaching.
